Table Rock SP

The impetus for wanting a minivan to travel in was based on a 2 week trip we are taking this summer out west. Between now and then, we'll be taking the Ody on a number of shorter trips to prove out our system and also hopefully work out any bugs in the van. Sunday we made a day trip up to Table Rock State Park, in Pickens, SC. We've been in the upstate for two years and have never been up there. It is quite beautiful!

Upon arrival we found this vista of Table Rock, and decided we needed a shot of the Ody in her natural habitat. The hike we did was to the top of Table Rock, that you see in the background. It starts at a lake at Elevation 1100ft. Here's Lydia, Jules, and Maggie at the summit. The trail is about 3.6 miles each way, and gains 2000 feet. It's not too tough, but definitely gets your blood pumping. Just past the summit is a very exposed vista from the top of Table Rock. Here I am with the Dos Amigos. They wanted to get off of their leashes and play here, but I'm not sure that's a good Idea...The lake in the distance is where the trail starts. Not bad for an afternoon hike that is less than an hour from home.

On the way home, we picked up rack supplies for the Ody, pictures to follow shortly. Today I'm off to get Tags and a replacement heater knob for the rear AC control.

Stay tuned for the next episode...
